To all my fantasy readers out there

I strolled through the science fiction/fantasy section at Barnes & Noble today. I really wanted to pick something up - but I had no idea what to get. I thought about buying one of the books below. I read The Sword of Shannara a long time ago but don’t remember a lot about it other than I really liked it. I started reading the other one more recently - but still quite a while ago.

I know some of the faithful have read some good fantasy stuff. I’m just looking for some recommendations. I really need a book that I can start reading only to be forgotten about due to lots of Guild Wars….

After a little bit of searching on amazon - this is what I might just order up: A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1)

Damm - after reading just a few of the user reviews of the book linked above I want to start reading it right now. I’ll probably go buy it on my way home from work tomorrow - unless you talk me into something else….

You might want to check Wil Wheaton’s blog for info… He talks about his sci-fi reads quite often…

A reader I am not so it may surprise you that I have read The Eye of the World. It was a great book. I will loan it to you if you wish. The thing is long. It took me a summer to read it. The book was fantasy based in a realistic type world. Let me know if you want it.

thanks Scrib - I think I have Eye of the World. I read probably the first 100 pages I think probably when I was in high school - or a little after.
