We had the last game of the season for one of the soccer teams I’m playing on. I think we ended the only undefeated team in the league, but I’m not 100% sure of that. There is no website that has updated standings or anything. We probably won’t be the #1 seed because we had several draws (4 to be exact).
But what is happening to me? I’ve been a goal scorer for most of my soccer career. Thats all I knew how to do. Now this team happened to need a left back – so I’ve been playing defense. I’ve usually felt very awkward back there like I didn’t know what I should be doing. Tonight was the first game I felt like I played a full solid game – and it happened to be against what was supposed to be our toughest opponents.
So what the hell is going on? Am I being converted to a defender? It doesn’t seem right – I want to score goals. Thats all I really know how to do.

What was it that Rodman said to Van Damme? “Offense scores the points…but defense wins the games!” Good motto to live by I think.
